Three Toyota counterbalance trucks and one powered
pallet truck are in contention for a 2015 IFOY Award.
The IFOY Award criteria includes innovative quality,
technology, design, ergonomics, handling, safety, cost
effectiveness and sustainability.
IFOY Jury chairperson Anita Würmser said 2014
saw the introduction of a number of innovations from
various manufacturers.
“Only the best of the best in terms of innovation have
made it into the final round,” she said.
The Toyota nominations are for the all-new 8-Series
gas-powered forklift in the counterbalance trucks up to
3.5-tonne category, the BT Levio P-series electric pallet
truck in the warehouse category, and the Traigo 80
4.0–5.0-tonne electric truck (not available in Australia)
and diesel-powered 8-Series 3.5–8.0-tonne in the
counterbalance trucks from 3.5-tonne category.
The winner in each category will be decided in March
by an international jury and a panel of respected
trade journalists and leading logistics media from 13
countries.
Toyota Material Handling Australia’s executive vice
president and chief operating officer Steve Takacs
said the nominations are recognition of the exceptional
features and quality found in all Toyota products.
“Nominations for highly regarded awards like IFOY
demonstrate the way in which Toyota is respected the
world over for the quality, reliability and durability of its
material handling equipment,” he said.
All nominated trucks will undergo the IFOY Test and
IFOY Innovation Check during the IFOY Test Week,
from 20 to 26 February in Osnabruck, Germany.
The IFOY 2015 winners will be announced on 5 May at
the BMW Museum in Munich.
